Old-Brule Heritage Society

Founded in 1998 to Preserve and Share the Heritage of the Old-Brule Region

 

 

 

O-BHS  February General Meeting

Wednesday, February 10, 2016, 5:30 pm,

Note: Date & time change

 At Maple Town Hall

 Meeting starts with a pot luck lunch, and at about 6:00pm

Dr Ron Mershart has agreed to give us a presentation on

 "the Early History of Douglas County until 1900,

with emphasis on the Life and Role of early

Town of Superior Settler, James Bardon."

 

Dr. Mershart headed the History Department at UWS

and was active in planning the Sesquicentennial Events

for Douglas County in 2004,

which inspired the publication of our book

Wisconsin Far Northwest: Brief Histories of the Rural Communities in Northern Douglas County, now being reprinted.

Please bring a dish  to share for the potluck lunch. 

 A short business meeting, will follow the program.

 New members welcome.

Davidson Windmill and Eskolin Log House and Taylor's Bridge tours:

(Tours take about 30 minutes to 1 hour, pending your interest in history, and the workings of the Windmill.)

 

 Group tours when requested.
